About
In this session, three leaders from Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA) share their views from different, yet integrated, perspectives to help insurers make sense of the evolving global pandemic.

Dr. Daniel Zimmerman guides us through a general medical and epidemiological overview of COVID-19 and what we’ve learned in the last five months. His insights highlight the key factors that will affect the pandemic’s trajectory and are critical for insurers to understand.

Julianne Callaway shares research insights uncovered from RGA’s wide-ranging expertise combining the scientific, advanced analytics, and actuarial knowledge of RGA’s Global Research and Data Analytics team. She discusses findings regarding three key components that impact COVID-19 mortality experience: age, underlying chronic health conditions, and gender. Additionally, she explores ways insurers can cope with the challenges of studying an evolving issue with often incomplete data.

While much of the focus has been on the immediate impact of COVID-19 on the industry, Tim Rozar has an eye on the future. He shares his views on the near-term and lasting impacts of this pandemic on the insurance industry and society, including the potential for additional challenges as well as an improved outlook.
